What is Coaching?

Coaching is a tool designed to bring about positive change by empowering the individual. The role of the coach is to help facilitate that change – allowing the client to learn and improve. Coaching can be applied in countless situations, aiming to make a shift that leads to improvements in your life, whether that’s changing career, improving your health, kicking a habit.

Why do I Coach?

I spent many years in corporate environments hearing people say they felt ’stuck’,

I could see colleagues limited by their own beliefs about themselves, unwilling or unable to fulfil their own potential.

Sometimes I was part of that crew as well but I saw saw first hand what coaching could do.

Coaching was for me a transformative experience, helping me to get out of my own way, overcome challenges and massively improve the quality of my life.

The process itself inspired me to learn the skills to be able to help others.

My particular passion is working with women to help them focus on improving their physical and mental wellbeing to enable them to perform at their very best in their professional lives.

Outdoor Coaching

The International Coach Federation defines coaching as ‘partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximise their personal and professional potential”.

“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”

Wayne Dyer

There is nowhere better for inspiration and creativity than being in nature. Being outdoors unlocks the senses, allows for different perspectives and amplifies exponentially the impact of the coaching process. To unlock our potential for change, we need to apply thinking that is different from what put us in the situation in the first place. Natural settings take us away from the usual and offer us the chance to look at things in a completely new way.

I use a variety of outdoor coaching techniques in a variety of settings, in every case ensuring that is appropriate to the client’s needs. I integrate outdoor work with more conventional sessions including face-to-face and virtual meetings.
